How do I start a transfer?

Domain transfers are currently handled through support tickets for all extensions, not online. To move a domain from another provider to TeknoWeb, open a transfer request. This link opens the form with the correct subject; since the domain is not yet registered in your dashboard, the service defaults to Not related to a specific service and the topic to Transfer, EPP code, lock. Specify the domain to transfer; our team will work through the process with you.

Preparing for transfer

Domain transfers generally require two things: an EPP code and an unlocked domain.

EPP code

An EPP code, also called an authorization or transfer code, is a secret code verifying domain ownership. Obtain it from your current provider. Share it only with the provider receiving the transfer.

Transfer lock

The lock prevents unauthorized transfers. Remove it in your current provider's panel before starting the transfer.

Other checks

  • Ensure the domain has not expired.
  • Registration rules may block transfers for a period after new registration or a recent transfer.
  • Ensure the domain's contact email address belongs to you and is accessible.

If you cannot find the EPP code

Most providers show it on the domain management page. Otherwise ask their support team. It can often also be sent to the domain's registered contact email, so access to that address matters.

Moving from TeknoWeb to another provider

For domains registered with TeknoWeb, manage the EPP code and transfer lock on the domain page if supported by the registrar. See Domain management. Open a support ticket if these options are unavailable in the dashboard.
