Hosting backups and restoring from a backup

How are backups made?
Every hosting plan includes a weekly backup of your account, stored outside the hosting server in Cloudflare R2 storage. This keeps the backup copy unaffected if the server has a problem.
Your own backup matters too
Terms of Service make you responsible for backing up your data; TeknoWeb's backups are an additional safeguard. We recommend creating your own backup in cPanel and downloading it to your computer, especially before a major update, plugin installation or design change.
Restoring from the dashboard
- My Services is where you open your hosting service.
- Backups tab: open it to see the backups listed for your account, with their dates and sizes. If there are no backups yet, you will see “No backups yet”.
- Next to the backup you want to return to, click Restore.
- Read the warning in the confirmation dialog and select Yes, restore to confirm.
Important: Restoring overwrites your account's current content and cannot be undone. Changes made after the backup date (new content, orders, emails) may be lost. If unsure, first back up the current state.
Restoring is only available for active services.
Restoring through a support ticket
If the Backups tab does not show the backup you need, or you want to restore only specific files or a database:
- Open a new support ticket.
- For the subject, select Restore from backup.
- Specify the service, date and content to restore (entire account, a specific folder or a database).
